Pregnant, Parenting, Scared and Alone???
Vita Centre provides a range of services to support young women who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. We support young families by providing education, counselling support and resources.

Vita Centre offers the following programs to serve pregnant and/or parenting youth:

Vita Youth Parent Connection
This is a 12 week employability program that provides young parents with an opportunity to learn new skills in areas of:
♦ Parenting
♦Life Skills
♦Employability

Participnats are paid minimum wage for attending. Financial assistance for childcare and transportation is available to those who qualify.
Next session begins July 20, 2009.

Support in Community:
Our community counselor is available by phone or in person to meet youth who are experiencing stress with an unplanned pregnancy. We provide:
♦Assistance to find suitable housing
♦Support during times of crisis
♦Practical supports, e.g. moving, budgeting, transportation
♦Referrals to Ontario Works, food banks and other counselling supports
♦Guidance to connect with a physician and Public Health for prenatal education

Growing As Parents (G.A.P.):
A 12 week life skills and parenting skills program hosted at various locations across Peel Region. Some of the topics covered in this program are:
♦Healthy relationships, positive communication, coping as a single parent
♦Anger management, time management and budgeting
♦Temper tantrums, child development, child safety, health and nutrition
Child minding and light snack provided

Mississauga Location: Ontario Early Years Centre, Tomken Public School 3160 Tomken Rd, Mississauga
Time: Fridays from 1p.m. - 3p.m.
